This is the time of year when you can start to see if there is going to be a big or a little harvest.

But attention, If there are a lot of flowers it does not necessarily mean that there will be so many olives. In effect, Flowering is a crucial period. First of all, You should know that among the flowers there are some are sterile.

We must also pay attention to diseases such as the ringworm that will nibble the floral buds.

The wind has a primordial role because the olive flower is not pollinated by the bee but by the wind. You therefore understood if during flowering there is no wind to diffuse the pollen the flowers will not be pollinated. However, It must not be too loudly for a long time because it could burn the flowers. High heat during flowering also burn flowers. The trees must also be sufficiently irrigated so that they properly keep the hooked buds.

So that's why we are dependent on the climate.

Lors du 22ème Concours National des Huiles en Appellation d’Origine Protégée, nous avons reçu une médaille d’or pour notre AOP Aix en Provence Fruité Vert.

Ce concours est organisé par France Olive et l’Institut du monde de l’Olivier. Il se déroule à Nyons.

Il y était présenté 127 huiles de différentes AOP françaises. Un total de 38 médailles ont été décernées, dont 31 médailles d’or et 7 médailles d’argent.

Nous sommes donc fier de vous proposer un produit primé qui souligne notre travail d’une année.

La fête de l’huile nouvelle n’ayant plus lieu à Aix en Provence, le syndicat de l’AOP Aix en Provence met en place une journée portes ouvertes dans tous les domaines en AOP huile d’olive d’Aix en Provence.

Nous vous accueillerons donc le 14 décembre de 10h à 12h et de 14h à 18h. A cette occasion, nous vous ferons déguster notre huile nouvelle de l’année 2024. Vous pourrez retrouver notre fruité vert AOP Aix en Provence, notre olives maturées AOP Aix en Provence et notre monovariétale Aglandau.

Bien évidemment, le domaine reste ouvert du lundi au samedi de 8h30-12h30/14h00-18h00. Avant cette date du 14 december, nous n’aurons pas fini l’embouteillage de notre huile mais nous avons nos amandes de Provence du domaine en stock d’ors et déjà.

Olives harvest 2024 It's over.

It was a good harvest for the Mas Sénéguier. However, The yields were very bad. We have not exceeded the 14 % yielding. Yields generally depend on climatic conditions and varieties. The most an olives undergoes low temperatures (hors gel), The more yields increase. Or, with climate change it is less and less cold and especially later in the year.

Our new oil, will be available to the 14 december 2024. Time for us to receive our oils filtered by the mill and to be bottled.

Fortunately for us, This year we had quantity. But above all quality ! Our oils always contain as many aromas as delicious as surprising !

In terms of almond harvesting 2024 it was different. We had a very small harvest. But since there was not much fruit on the trees our almonds are exceptionally large, crunchy and very tasty. You can already come and discover them at the field. (Monday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m./2:00 p.m.-18:00 a.m.) Do not hesitate to give us a phone call to inform us of your arrival.

And yes, during the General Agricultural Competition Paris who held this 25 FEBRUARY 2024 we had the pleasure of being rewarded. It's always nice to see that our work bears fruit and what's more, that it is of quality. !

Notre AOP Aix en Provence Fruity Green received a gold medal et our AOP Aix en Provence Fruity Matured Olives received a silver medal. These medals were awarded because our oils have all the olfactory and taste qualities that these fruity products must contain in their AOP Aix en Provence category..

Do you know why it is recommended to eat a handful of almonds every day? ?

This is thanks to its benefits for our health. The almond is an asset to keep us in shape ! It is full of nutritional qualities such as :

• Its monounsaturated fatty acid content. Those are “good fats” which reduce cardiovascular risks.
• Its fiber content. Almonds have a low glycemic index.
• Its protein content. For diets such as vegetarian, almonds are a very good source of protein, unlike legumes..
• Its antioxidant content. Thanks to the high concentration of vitamin E, almond has an antioxidant action. Then, the almond is provided with vitamin B1 which is combined with vitamin E a very good remedy against skin aging.
• Its magnesium content. Magnesium which is an ally against stress and fatigue.

In summary, to benefit from all its benefits you would need to eat approximately 28 g of almonds per day. What's more, almonds keep very well over time. We market our almonds from Provence of the Ferragnès variety in a bag of 500 g with airtight seal.

The blossoming of the almond trees heralds spring. The almond tree is one of the first fruit trees to flower. The flower is white or white-pink depending on the variety.. It creates a beautiful landscape ! However, flowering only lasts a few days..

Pollination is carried out by bees. This is why we put beehives in the almond trees. You still have to be careful with the climate, which changes more and more over the years.. There are often late frosts which can wipe out all almond production.

So don't waste time to enjoy it and come to the estate to admire its landscapes.
